Join us on March 19th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the Hyatt Reston Town Center, Reston, VA to participate in the free hybrid event, Advancing Essential System Development and Security Through DevSecOps Standards.
During the event, we will hear from industry leaders and customers on the current needs for consistency, tools, standards, and common language in this key enabler for better software development, delivery, operations, and sustainment. Come learn about current efforts underway at the OMG to establish standards in the DevOps / DevSecOps / DevXOps arena.
Presented by: Dr. Alvin C. Murphy
The United States Department of Defense (DoD) is rapidly working with DoD Services to move from multi-year (e.g., 7-10) traditional acquisition programs to a commercial industry-based approach for software development. As an enabler, the Defense Department is pursuing an aggressive software development program focused on bringing automated software tools, services, and standards to DoD programs so that software applications can be created, deployed, and operated in a secure, flexible, and interoperable manner (AFCEA, 2019). The effort, referred to as DevSecOps, merges software development efforts with operations to increase the speed of software delivery. Security is integrated across the effort using automated scripts to identify vulnerabilities during development and operations. The talk will discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities for standardization encountered on the Surface Navy's DevSecOps journey.
