OMG Technical Meeting in Orlando, FL on September 23

Needham, MA, USA - August 20, 2008 - The Object Management Group™ (OMG™) today announced that the Business Architecture Working Group at OMG will host a Business Architecture Information Day on September 23, 2008, co-located with the OMG Technical Meeting in Orlando, FL. Most business initiatives require an understanding of the business across functional areas, organizational silos and complex value chains. Yet most enterprises lack a business blueprint. Business architecture facilitates the delivery of a wide range of business requirements and scenarios by creating a living enterprise blueprint that management can use to plan and execute strategic initiatives.

Attendees of the OMG Business Architecture Information Day will learn more about how organizations are deploying business architecture. Business architecture practitioners and leaders from HSBC, State Farm Insurance, Allstate Insurance, the U.S. Federal Government and MetLife Insurance will discuss how they are using business architecture to address major enterprise challenges. In addition, experts in the field will share state-of-the-art approaches for deploying business architecture within an organization.

Presentation topics include:

  • The Role of Business Architecture at a Global Bank
  • Using Business Architecture to Address Major Horizontal Initiatives
  • Leveraging Business Architecture on Strategic Initiatives
  • Leveraging Business Architecture Capabilities to Transform Customer Information Management
  • Business Architecture Alignment Across a Federated Enterprise
